Action on Hearing Loss is here to create a truly inclusive society for deaf people and everyone living with hearing loss or tinnitus in the UK – that’s 12 million people.

We’re looking for a seasoned and empathetic problem-solver, with tons of experience in building effective products and services, to help us deliver the best experience possible for the people we help and our supporters.

We’re building a charity for and with our users with products and services that are relevant and a pleasure to use. We want to solve problems in a coherent, meaningful and delightful way for people.

You’ll be leading an agile team that is dedicated to user research, content, design and product management, as well as working with a developer, our data team, our Brand team and other colleagues from across the organisation. Your work here will shape the way that people interact with the charity.

You will be joining the charity at a pivotal moment, with a new strategy, a new brand and a new website all about to be realised.

You should apply if:

  • You value collaboration and are at your best when you’re part of a team.
  • You are driven by delivering great experiences and solving problems.
  • You have empathy for customer needs, but can also consider technical constraints and business goals.
  • You’re excited about scaling products and services to help us reach 12 million people.
  • You’re passionate about inclusive design and accessibility.
  • You are flexible; we’re a fairly new team and the charity is changing rapidly.

In return, we’ll invest in you. Focusing on developing your talent as a leader with an emphasis on the skills that excite you. We’ll help you turn your ideas into reality and encourage you to try new things as we work to create a brilliant user experience.

If that sounds like a good challenge for you, we’d love to hear from you…

Interview Date: 24/02/2020 - 28/02/2020

Communication is a basic human need. Yet most of us know someone who struggles to communicate through hearing loss. It can cause substantial harm to friendships, family relationships, confidence, employability, mental health and life chances.

Action on Hearing Loss (formerly the RNID) is the UK’s largest charity for the 11 million people in the UK who confront deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss every day. Established in 1911, we help people to take control of their lives and live the life they choose, removing the barriers standing in their way. We give people support and care, develop technology and treatments, and campaign for equality.

We champion the value of difference and equality and celebrate our diverse and inclusive workforce. We actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from BAME backgrounds or who are deaf or hard of hearing. With almost 20% of our employees having a disability we proudly hold Disability Confident Leader status and guarantee an interview for disabled applicants meeting the minimum essential criteria.
